We should be skeptical of the notion of "interchangeable executives."
We need to strongly question the current practice of recruiting one-size-fits-all executives and upper-level managers who are not only from different companies, but also from entirely different industries.
The needs of such individuals to have everything summarized and presented and explained to them create major opportunities for canny perception managers to rise to the top, while genuinely effective but less articulate and/or manipulative personnel are pushed aside.
There are few developments more likely to transform a business into a virtual reality exercise than this.
