The Rise of Blogging
Blogging is the little guy’s freedom of the press, 21st-century style.
It is primarily about refusing to be a mere spectator-consumer, as well as about overcoming a sense of smallness and insignificance via a minor form of celebrity. In this regard, blogging is anti-establishment.
Curiously, in keeping with the prevailing idfulness of the times, many blogs fail to rise above simple statements of likes and dislikes and emotional reactions—yet may still be widely read by other people who have not gotten around to putting similar feelings of their own into words.
