We’ve heard how, for several generations, your women’s ability to care for your children has been hampered by the harsh demands of the factory or other state-assigned labor.

It’s been only recently that, with sharp increases in the cost of housing, American women have found themselves in a somewhat analogous position.  Our terminology for this new prevalence of working mothers, when it comes up in public discussion, is the phenomenon of the yuppie careerist want-it-all "me generation."
