Artist's Notes

I'm glad I took the photograph this painting is based on a number of years ago, because in the interim, the old Monrovia Station has been vandalized pretty badly--including large sections of walls knocked out, as if somebody went at it with a sledgehammer.

I can't imagine wanting to do that to something as fine as this old station.
